At least this is my experience mostly playing single player games and playing more and more open world games over the years with the same flaws. gonna buy this now, especially since its on sale thru steam. From a time when it was enough to have 40 good hours rather than 75 hours that get less entertaining as you go and then you quit because the end of the game is still a ways off and you arent having enough fun to want to keep going. I know im contradicting earlier comment but in a way i can easily see how DI can be considered a better game. I have now considered every possible zombie scenario and that takes away some mystique you know? Oh and the walking dead low budget daryl crossbow fps ate total shit, another sign of waning interest and that was like 8 years ago.

World war z was my nail in the coffin so to speak, it seemed like zero hype just passionless cash grabbing, as it got advertised everywhere, then movie comes out complete with companion videogame and reception is universally underwhelming. So many cultural sensations peaked and have fallen off a bit, like di/dl, l4d2, cod zombies, walking dead (tv and telltale game), dayz.

Zombies thematically can feel played out now. Denuvo is totally anti-consumer and should at the very least be removed from software after it has been cracked (which usually takes less than a week now). SEGA removed DENUVO from Yakuza 0 and their new releases don't have it. Sonic Mania had problems in the past due to DENUVO implementation. exe size has decreased from 117MB to 3MB. In short, GOG is too slow and cant step it up. As for Sonic Mania, Denuvo was removed 2 years ago and a GOG release hasnt been made more likely, not for Sonic Mania, neither for any other Sega game.

I think Island may have been innovative in blending fps and the increasingly popular ubiquitous open world elements. Like i dont remember feeling too challenged, nothing really sticks out in my memory, but also different strokes for different folks you know? Considering di/dl as an extended series. In hindsight i guess DL parkour is really forgiving. So do you mean there is too much parkour and not enough hack n slashing, or that the parkour itself is boring beyond just overstaying its welcome? Like im just curious, is there a way the parkour could sell you?
